Painsley Catholic College GCSE Results 2008

Painsley Catholic College achieved its best ever results at GCSE this year with a record 91% of the year group achieving 5 or more A*-C grades. This is an amazing 161 out of 177 students. This included an outstanding 35% of entries at grades A/A*

High standards were maintained in the number of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Mathematics. Painsley’s reputation as a Specialist Science College will be further enhanced by the fact that 80% of the year group achieved 2 or more A*-C grades in Science. Mr Tunney, Headteacher, today thanked the staff and students for their hard work and commitment and parents for their support. He said ”each subject has produced fantastic results with students across the whole ability range and it is a privilege to be able to congratulate all concerned and see so many happy faces on the day. It is particularly pleasing to gain such impressive results which maintain our reputation locally and nationally.” A number of Year 10 students successfully completed GCSE’s in Mathematics(Statistics) and Music a year early.
